Object Dock Plus
Just fried Win7X64
Well now, this is interesting,
Just installed the Harley My Colors theme, and got it all working nicely. Running Fences, The gadgets, CursorFX, and loaded up Object Dock Plus. Everything seemed all fine and dandy...
I added a built in tab to the tabbed version (taskbar).. and then clicked on "remove this tab" to take it off... the system locked at that point. I was forced to do a hard start with the power button. Upon restart I got the message "Checking File System on C: blah blah blah... press any key to skip..
So, now the computer seems to have a scrambled hard drive... not even that initial disk check runs.. it counts down to 1 second, and then just hangs there. Can't skip the check or enter the check.. so I have a beautiful custom desktop of the "Checking FIle System" text and that's it.. Looks like a recovery is next on the list..
The only BG programs other than the Stardock progs were the normal tray progs, Trend Micro Inet Security, etc etc... yep, been sitting here looking at this lovely screen for over a half hour. The HD activity indicator just blinks about once per second but there is no indication that anything is actually happening. Haven't seen this message before on Win7, however, on all the other OS's I've used, the countdown will actually go to zero and then a percentage complete progress report will begin as the disk is being checked.. soooooo.. nada... damn.
It's a notebook, Asus G60vx, core duo, Win7X64 Ultimate, Geforce GTX 260M "cuda", Intel core duo, 4g ram, segate HD.
Don't know what, where, when, how whatever conflict occured, but one sure did somewhere. Yeesh.........
EDIT: Found this link with someone having the same problem with an HP notebook... with a work around...

Using the computer's start option (escape key when the Asus Logo hit the screen) and selecting the hard drive actually did start the computer.. so no scrambled disk after all... but what a strange afternoon... gooooooood night...
SO, although Object Dock plus DID seem to hang the system, that appears to be all it did... we'll see what the next few hours show. Whew!
