Eating CPU in Windows 7 x64.

Hi all, I have just upgraded my PC and OS to huge gaming rig with...

 

System Specs:

CPU: Intel Q9650 @3.0Ghz

RAM: 8Gb DDR3 1066.

GPU: GTX280

MB: Asus Striker 2 Extreme.

OS: Win7 HP.

I used to have a much slower AMD system on Windows Vista Ultimate. We got deskscapes free then... Those were the days :)

My problem is that deskscapes used to run perfectly on the old system, but on my new monster gaming rig, Deskscapes is eating about 1/4 of my CPU, and the .Dream is very juddery (Green Cosmic Power, my fave .Dream). I just have the trial version at the moment, is there a fix for this please or do I have to wait for another version to come out?

If I can get this fixed, I'll deffinately be buying the full version.

Did you install any third party codecs on this machine?

Is the cpu usage similar if you run the included dreams?

I have Win7 w/Deskscapes (and a very similar PC) and I see similar things but only with certain dreams (usually the more complex ones).  I've never installed any codecs myself (who knows if some rogue app did or not, though).
