I've bagged the game. Too many issues with it that never got resolved, nor will they be. Made the leap to League of Legends where the game is badass, their are constant updates and the games are always fun. I suggest others do the same.

Actually he's right dude.  They have completely abandoned the betterment of this game flat out.  No more patches to fix invalid states or lobby crashes.  No more maps (unless you want to play a modded map)... I'll probably not buy another game from this company based soley off of them abandoning Demigod....if they will do that with demigod they will do it with another game.

Never buy another game from the company? *sigh* A tad melodramatic given this is Chris Taylor and Gas Powered Games which has given us Dungeon Seige 1 & 2, Total Annhilation, Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander 2? Given their history, you are letting one misstep which both Stardock and them have said had issues, with Frogboy recently saying they aren't giving up on it yet, suddenly make you write them all off?

A tad... melodramatic no? Alas, to each his own, and not knocking you mate, just saying, geez. That is like saying "Screw the Lakers" (or your favorite sports team with numerous championships) after they fudge one game during a season despite their history and known talent.

*sigh*

P.S. Space Siege doesn't count. Blame SEGA for that FUBAR

The thread was asking why people aren't playing anymore, I gave the reason why I don't play, so maybe you should STFU and raise your hand before you speak and wait to be called on.

Really because the title said "Do" people still play, not "Why" do anyone not play anymore.

Demigod is now officially Demidud.  I picture this:  There is one server running in some back dusty room that everyone has forgotten about, there are few coke cans, maybe a cigarette or two that have burnt out on top of the box...listen to it!  Oh that hard drive is a churnin', but it sounds as if a bunch of rats are having an orgy inside, the once vibrant hum of a proud gaming server that once was is no more.

     Meanwhile....

There's a Gas/Stardock employee or third party hoster, whichever doesn't matter that walks by every now and then to check on the Demigod box to see if the green light is on and that it's getting power...but it's barely even doing that; The green light will flicker on this server as if holding on to whatever life it can...In the mean time, countless crys for this company to fix the numerous issues that have plagued this game from day one go unanswered.  It's not like fans ask a lot.  Simple solid updates and a few maps here and there just to wet their whistles.  Yet these desperate plees to the developers and company go unanswered.  Yes, it's true for the few remaining Demigod fans that there are...these crys go unheard.  However, there are still a few fans that bodly defend the game calling these naysayers every name in the book or telling them to go elsewhere...these fans have refused to except the fact that they have been abandoned and are in complete denial... and the box continues to churn....the rats are steadily pumpin' the crickets are churpin'.....the days to this wonderful game are in fact numbered.

Demigod is based upon P2P technology that more or less piggy backs on Stardock's proxy servers; there is no single Demigod 'server'.  Demigod will be still be able to be played long after you're dead and buried - benefits of P2P over Client/Server.
