Incompatibilities with Opera 10.50?

Hi.  I recently decided to try out opera 10.50 because apparently they claim that it is the fastest web browser now.  Everything was working great until i tried to close opera and couldn't because the exit button wasn't working.  Then i realized that windowblinds is not skinning opera correctly specifically the title bar.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Is this a known compatibility issue with opera?  Here's Screenshot of what i'm experiencing.  Only the maximize button works also.

Really liked my first experience with opera because firefox does not seem to be as responsive as i remembered in the past.  Any response would great be appreciated.

Hi, pawazn. I tried out Opera 10.50 (it's an early-ish Beta) and got the same thing and concluded it wasn't worth it at this point. It is very fast, but the skinning issues put the kabosh on it for me.

There are no probs with 10.10, so....

using opera 10.50 here and no issues whatsoever, running windowblinds latest version. it's very fast but because the WC site is slower than a snail on valium it really makes no difference. all other sites run slicker than grease on a bar of soap.

Ditto. No issue with the exit button, but it's definitley not skinning the title bar.

Weird...maybe it's a screen resolution issue? Nimbin, Po' and pawazn, what resolutions are you running? Mine's 1280x800. Could it be a simple rendering problem?

I am having the same problem with Windowblinds skinning Opera 10.50. I tried "ignoring the application" but still have problems. I also tried Opera's settings to use classic windows skinning, but I suspect even their classic option is still "skinned" just to look like classic windows rather than actually releasing the skinning controls.

I think Opera has it's own skinning engine and it and windowblinds simply don't live nicely together.

*edit: I posted about this problem in the Opera Forums, and if any help is forthcoming, I'll update this thread. :)

My laptop's resolution is also at 1280x800 but when changing to my external monitor's which is at 1920x1080, the problem is still there.  When changing opera's appearance setting to the native windows skin skin setting, i get the same results as emmfan.

We have reproduced the problem and it should be fixed in the next WB update.

WB had been set to do something special for the beta but it looks like they changed something.

I am using WindowBlinds 6.4, Windows XP 32 bit and do not have any problems with Opera 10.50 and 10.10 except the acceptable problem with the menu (look at the screenshot). I think Opera developers have changed something in their skinning with 2 recent releases and that now causes some problems with WindowBlinds.

This may not matter, but I have 10.51 right now... hope that doesn't require yet another update to WB!

Opera skins do seem different, now some of them are like Chrome with the tabs on the very top.  Did you try other Opera skins?  I'd be half-willing to bet that the "classic" skin will behave differently (tabs not on the top row).

It's definitely worth trying the latest version of Opera - I was starting to switch to Chrome because it was getting slow like Firefox and IE, but the latest version of Opera is surprisingly fast.  It may still be slightly slower than Chrome or the same (not sure), but the difference has become irrelevant.  Mouse Gestures + SPEED again (finally!) = WIN.
