If Pluto is still considered a planet, then we'll have to render a bunch of similar planetoids as planets, too.

And even if one goes so far as to say "No, Pluto is an exception" this makes it still 10 planets, given that (what has been previously considered to be) Pluto are 2 objects/planetoids.

Britain learned from France's mistakes in those regions, and does not participate in wars in the Orient anymore.
End of IrationalFear's quote

I'll have to look it up, but I'm pretty sure that we were in the first Korean War... Edit: Research done. Yes we were. We initially sent two brigades and loads of ships. Then we sent some more.

We'd probably join in for another though, seeing as wherever America goes, we usually follow.

For all educational purposes Pluto IS a planet. And what 13-planet system....there are only 9 in this solar system.
End of quote

actually for  all education porpuses schools are no longer to call Pluto a planet. Any school that does is using old books sorry. And Xer0 is right, there are 13 planetoid objects in our system. there are 3 behind Pluto roughly Pluto's size hence the problem if we call pluto a planet then we have to call these planets as well. Also there is a 4 th object with a very eliptical orbit around the Sun. Usually we do not notice it. But yeah we either have 8 or 13 planets, not 9.

9.

Just because a bunch of morons wanna say pluto is not a planet does not mean they're right.

The only way to remove pluto as a planet properly would be to remove anything on that list that could not support life and say only planets like Earth and Mars(If terraformed) are planets.  Saying Pluto isn't is just arguing symantics.  It orbits the sun, it's big, and it's been acknowledged as a planet for centuries.  Scientists always have this bad habit of screwing with what doesn't need screwing with.

but its not big. Its tiny. Pluto is too small to be planet. Becuase is pluto is a planet then so is sedna. It also orbits the Sun is about as big as Pluto. The only reason why it was not considered before was becuase it was too far out

I'd point out the first part of that statement where it's been acknowledged for centuries, but I don't want to argue about this after we just narrowly dodged the guns vs bows thing.

Quoting Impulsivity, reply 4025

well wouldn't that also mean the brown dwarf in our solar system also be our 2nd star?

No, why would it?

Any planetoid that is about the size of Pluto, and orbits the sun, should be considered a planet.

Now, if you're saying that there are 4 more planetoids that are about the size of Pluto, and have their own separate orbit around the sun, then I am willing to accept this 13-planet system.

Historically we only had 7 planets. The others we couldn't observe with the eye. Esp. Pluto was found not so long ago - if I remember correctly in the early 20th century - and compare this to now Jupiter etc who is known since several millenia.

Actually a lot of moons are way bigger than Pluto.

Then, real planets do have this special trait that they control their ecliptic, and clears it of other objects. They also have a very set route around the sun. Now, Pluto doesn't do both, and he would have been cleared by Neptune but Pluto got luck they will never meet. Pure coincidence he's still there...
