Taskbar with no highlights?

Hello all.

I hope my post is appropriate here; I don't actually own Windowblinds, I'm just trying to find a way to do what I want. If Windowblinds can do it, I'll buy it immediately.

Mainly, I just want the highlights gone from my Windows 7 taskbar. By highlights, I'm referring to the illuminated boxes that distinguish open applications from those that are simply pinned to the taskbar. I find them rather ugly, and I'd prefer for opened and pinned apps to be visually indistinguishable. Here's a picture of my current taskbar: http://i48.tinypic.com/kevjmb.png. The first three icons have highlights, the next two don't.

Will Windowblinds be able to knock that way for me?

Windowblinds can do that. Of course this depends on the design of the skin you are using

Yes, Windowblinds can do that... though realistically you will need Windowblinds and SkinStudio (the software that creates/changes skins.) Most/many windowblinds skins use highlighting, but it is a pretty easy task in SkinStudio to remove it. Basically you'd just change the graphic that makes the highlight into one that is 100% transparent using your favorite graphics program.

That will only work on a third party skin.. not default 7 Aero.

Yes, of course. I probably should have mentioned that, I just sort of assumed that would be known which probably wasn't a safe assumption!
