Installed the trial of Deskscapes 3 on W7 and using the Earth option, WMP stutters when playing any video, they play fine using Media Player Classc, no problem with other dreams and not a CPU issue. Edit: forgot, Hotmail when Opera is used doesn't open, in IE it does and without Deskscapes, it opens in both, no biggie there.
Deskscapes will not have having any impact on websites opening or not. I suspect that was a server glitch on hotmail when you tried.
What video card do you have? It may well be that your video card is lacking the power to play the Earth dream which uses the graphics card to render plus playing a video in WMP which is almost certainly also trying to use the graphics card for decoding acceleration. Media Player classic is probably using the cpu instead.
