SKS 7 all programs text question

Yes - if you set the left text margin on the background to -90, it goes away and you're left with just the image.

That didn't work for me, if I set the left text margin to -90 it throws my mouseover image off.

If I set any of the mouseover text margins or any settings for the text nothing happens.

Thanks for the help though, I might just leave it the way it is. 

All I wanted to do is move the text over to the right a little to center it better without moving the arrow and the mouseover image also.

What size are your arrow images?  You need to make them the same size as your all programs background and then make your mouseover image blank (the same size as your all programs background).  If you download my Dr. GUI skin, and open it in SKS7, you'll see how to get rid of the text.

Thanks again for the help, I haven't made the arrow images I am going to use yet so that could be the problem.

And as a side note, I'm not trying to get rid of the text just move it over a little...

Oh...sorry.  I think once you have your arrow images, you should be able to move the text whereever you want by setting the text margins.

 

No need to be sorry, just a little misunderstanding that's all, we all do that once in awhile (unless like me quite a bit)!

Got it to work somewhat.... what a pain trying to get things to line up the way you want it without it affecting other areas.

I don't understand that when I adjust my text settings for the background image that it throws off my mouseover image when the background image and the mouseover image are the same size!( and the text settings for the mouseover image have no effect whatsoever when I adjust them)! Am I doing something wrong?

 

because its the text settings  move the arrow. you are obviously new to this, your best bet is to disect skins that have differnt arrows and see what margins and images they have used.

you cant move the text without moving the arrow.  if you want the text in a certain postion, you need to make your arrow area the same size as your bacckground area x 3 states, normal, mouseover and pressed. in these images you can add the font yourself, and it can say anthing too, not just more programs, as for text margins for these you have to play with it until it does not move when you mouseover, trial and error and time. its just a part of the wb skinning side of things.

I think I have everything the way I want it now, lot of trial and error on adjusting my images...

Can you not use text effects (drop shadow,outline,etc.)on the text in that part?

I have it enabled, but it doesn't do anything!

You can, but you have to change it in the item mouseover, not the programs list.
