SATURDAY WORKS BETTER FOR MOST, gonna host it then!

 

The 1v1 Invitational will be hosted on and Saturday January 30th.

I will be using a system much like March Madness for all that are familiar to that, i will use a random generator with all the names for your first match.

if enough people do not want to use a random generator, and want to use seedings, i could do that too, but i doubt we will have too many people.

the point in this 1v1 "Invitational" is for all of those that want to learn from the best can get a bunch of good replays, and for all of those who really want to see the real best player on sins.

The map will be "Small Random Map", and i know that people complain that there are bug starts, but in order to be the best, you have to be adaptive, and clever.

Anyone who is interested please give me your time in Greenwich Mean Time (i'm not british, but most people can convert it to there) that you can be online on Friday night, Saturday will be reserved for any matches not finished on Friday.

That's no good at all.  Still, shouldn't the winner be able to provide replay evidence?

 

I think observer positions may indeed be required, if this is a significant problem.

It was perhaps too short notice for the custom map?  I'm not sure about observers though, the community is small enough without having one or more players watching rather than playing.  Maybe a referee, so that you submit replays to claim a win?  If it isn't knock-out there's no need to know who won on the spot. 

How many games were you able to play yourself, can we have the replays from those games? 

Again!  Don't be put off, if there is a regular Saturday tournament then it'll be better attended.  Though perhaps that would require more than one organiser?

agreed des, if i could get some help running this tournament, i would be fine in helping it run most saturdays, but ther eis no gurantee i will be home, hopefully i can get someone to help me out

Its slightly disappointing to have no replays so far.  I was going to ask whether the next tournament would be this weekend, but with the expansion release expected to be on the ninth, it might be wise to wait until after that?

How long was the tournament on- from when to when- and how many rounds would you expect to fit in on a single night?  If we could get Saturdays going, then we could have a ladder based on replays, possibly with points for a win and for lasting beyond a set time.  It might be good to have a 1v1 replay ladder anyway, not specifically limited to Saturdays.  It could run to the next patch after the upcoming one.
