Objectbar and Windows 7?

Okay, so I know from reading thru the forum that OB is heading off into the sunset, and I think that is a real shame as I think it's probably one of the most productive tools out there. I have used OB for years now and only with the GT2 skin (great work Tiggz!). I recently built a new machine and loaded it with Windows 7 64 bit, and much to my disappointment cannot get OB to work properly. When I reboot, OB always starts in skin browser mode, so when that happens it doesn't load the one that I had previously saved and all my bar customizations are gone. Has anyone gotten it to work properly?

Just to add to this, I've also tried OB and OB2 with Vista only to experience the same results. Whenever it launches it asks what theme to install instead of remembering what had previously been loaded.
