Marauder suggestion

I thought about this ship for a long time... and it think... all it needs is a cloaking device.

Good idea, but as no Vasri units have a cloaking ability, it wont fit into the game.

The navigator does have "Phasic Cloaking"; it "phases out", allowing it to sit and observe enemy planets. Note that it cannot: heal itself, move, phase jump, attack, or use any other abilities while cloaked (the cloaking ability on the Jikara is toggleable; since it uses the "PhaseOut" modifier it is toggleable (just using an "invulnerable+disable abilities" modifier set will actually prevent you from turning off your cloak)).

Its hidden in the non offensive phase mastery tree and since its a late scout upgrade its pretty much totally overlooked.

It makes sense and fits in well.

The Marauder is a bit underpowered and looking at its abilities its not a front line fighting ship. Its more about nasty special abilities and speed.

Its a dagger in the back. It just lacks power. A cloak would make it quite useful without turning it into a combat ship. I feel its an assasin. It would go so well with subversion and stabilize phase lane.

I should just be allowed to move whilst being cloaked and i think it would also not be too harsh to allow that for the scouts also.

The marauder is a fine ship, if it needs a buff, its to subversion. As a support ship its not meant to do much fighting at all, but at higher levels its a wonderful addition, allowing your fleet to bypass PJIs, out run and out maneuver almost any ship and give a direct line to reinforcements.

*raises hat and scratches head, walks over to the holograpic shematics of the Marauder*

I don't know, Sir. Subversion is 5/7,5/10 minutes prolonging structure and SHIP building by 50/100/150 %. I'd hate to see it going the way of the Embargo ability, locking down players in the very first minutes. And if you are proposing to make Subversion the reason for getting the Marauder then you are proposing exactly that. At least if you intend to make it a worthy first-pick ship.

I'd like to see all its abilities put to good use and cloaking with movement would achive that. Surely there remain a few questions; namely detection ranges and ability cooldowns to make it not an unfair, unstoppaple weapon with guranteed success.

I'd like also to point out the rare chance we have here to implement a new gameplay mechanic by retooling the scouts stealth ability.

*types a few commands in the holtank and the shematic of the Marauder are replaced by the shematic of the Jikara*

It would open up the possibility for stealth fleets. I'd like to remind you that we are talking about scouts and the least combat effective capital in the game. Vasari scouts are considered inferior, the Vasari as a whole could also need a little enhancement as well as the MArauder. Surely a stealth fleet would not be suitable as a main combat force, but lategame a small fleet would mean an interesting asset.

Its now or never. The decision is yours.

Nah, cloak isn't going to happen. They tried making an actual cloak for Entrenchment (mines), but it didn't work well so they scrapped the idea.
