Missing Serial Number

Got Sins of a SE about a week ago, the last copy at a local walmart, and found it to have no serial registration code in it of any kind. not on the inside case or on the manual. I have emailed stardock support twice.. once several days ago and once 2 days ago and have recieved nothing but the automated responses and, I would really enjoy to get to playing. Any Mods that could offer asistance?

If you have a hard copy, you do not need the CD key to play Sins of a Solar Empire. By all means, keep hounding Stardock customer support, but you can install the 1.0 version of the game and update to patch 1.05 without the key. You need the key to update to 1.181, the newest and far better version (and needed for multiplayer), but in the meantime the tutorial and basics of the game are releatively unchanged.

 

However, if you are worried about not getting your key at all, the safest thing to do might be to return it to Walmart and try to find it elsewhere. But hopefully when Stardock's customer support finally actually talks to you that will be unnecissary.

Also dont email Stardock over and over, it resets your ticket number in the support line. So you never get helped. Best thing to do is PM a Moderator here so they maybe let you know where your support ticket is. Sometime they can sometimes they cant.

if you just bought it, as i did a few weeks ago, you got the Game of The Year edition did you not?

my serial number was on the back of the MANUAL. its a pretty long alphanumeric code, with dashes
