Logon Studio...is it the only thing out there?

hello...i'm running windows xp on all my machines. so i downloaded logonstudio xp....but i'm no satisfied with it.....theres some things that dont work right when your creating your own logons and you cant tweak everything and move everything around as you would like too...for example i cant move the shutdown button around on the screen and i cant get the bottom panel to dissapear, etc. now i download some pre-designed logons like for example the dr who logon and i notice that these things i mentioned are changed and moved around...and i wonder....is there better sotware for xp for creating logins than logonStudio that will let me be more creative with the xp logons than logonstudio xp? if so what are they?

Curious

I've never made an XP logon, but as I understand it, the panels are adjustable/removable by changing the ini file and pixel size of your BMP's.  Boss0190 would be a good person to ask... or others who regularly submit XP logons.  You could perhaps check the gallery and PM some of those regulars for tips and techniques, etc.

yes in the program you can set the the panels visable or not visable and that is supposed to make them dissapear but when i set them the top panel dissapears and the bottom panel leaves a white bar in it place. and i dont know how to move around and re position the shutdown button or fix it if it doesnt appear at all.......not shure if this program is working right or not....just wonderd it there was a different program out there that would let me create the logons only work better for xp

:annoyed:

I can see the program causeing issues maybe while windows is trying to shut down. But if you hold the power button in and it wont turn off you may have another issue that just happen to start when you installed the program. There is basically no way that software can prevent your computer from turning off if you held the power button in for 5 secs. So try holding the button for like 30 seconds and see if it goes off. If that does not work we really have no choice but to just unplug it. After i unplugged it i would move it to a different outlet and see if it will turn off then. You may also try a different power cable.

From what I understand, if you remove the top and bottom panels, you need to increase the sise of the main panel to compensate/occupy the full screen.

and i dont know how to move around and re position the shutdown button or fix it if it doesnt appear at all.

The moving of the shutdown button is done in the ini file... by adding/subtracting from the positional settings, as far as I understand it.  However, having never made one, I am no expert... hence, the best people to ask are those who have submitted to the XP logon gallery... a PM would be the way to go

dont have xp anymore but bottom panel I use to crop  bottom of main picture off and use that in bottom section

so would look like one picture when added to logon

I always found that when I set bottom panel to use picture it would always crash program when selected the picture the first time but just reopen and could select my picture ok ( so make sure it is saved before doing it)
