map designer sliders

so how about those map designer sliders is the left side or the right side the lesser or the greater affect.  everytime i make a map the phaase lanes seem to be to long no matter which side I have the slider put on and it takes forever for my ships to travel.

use the speed up on the game setup menu.  i don't know about the sliders either or if they even work.

It's almost like black magic.  I remember trying to approach it scientifically.  All I can say is that it might be better to just design maps you'd like to play using Galaxy Forge (and to maybe even download other people's maps).
