[suggestion]cap ship "death imminent" abilities

The abilities cant be used until the cap ship in question is near death, like 1000-1500 health left. One ability could be a suicide crash into another cap ship or starbase/structure for massive damage. Or reactor gone critical dealing splash damge to all nearby ships/structures (friendly or enemy). Or the cap ship could increase its rate of fire and Damge Per Second, the side effect being the cap ship stops repairing itself/shield regeneration and takes more damage from enemy attacks.

Well, I'm not so sure about actual abilities, but I do like the concept of a sort of "last stand" mode that kicks in when caps are damaged enough that their destruction almost guaranteed.

Let the poor souls go out in a blaze of glory and all that.

I'd at least like to see those gigantic explosions do something more than just look pretty.

It just looks unsatisfying to see this massive explosion in the middle of the enemy fleet cause absolutely no damage or...anything, really. Even a simple physics jab to all of the frigates nearby would be an improvement.

This is especially so when a starbase goes up. If the Kol's railgun can split a siege frigate in two, then why isn't that enormous blast turning it into a field of burning scrap?

I agree with Carnston. The giant explosions SHOULD do more than simply look good (which they do look good).
