WindowBlinds Not Skinning After Reboot

I just recently upgraded from WB6 to WB7. WB6 worked perfectly. After the upgrade to WB7 I have to manually load the theme whenever the system is booted. When I login to Windows the classic desktop is loaded. I then have to start windowBlinds and load my theme. I upgraded through Impulse and I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling through Impulse but the problem is not fixed. I have tried the "Verify Installation" through Impulse and it reports that WindowBlinds is installed correctly. My OS is Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Here is the info from WB7

Yup you have a problem, WindowBlinds should not react that way.  Have you email support@stardock.com and started a ticket?

There is an update to the version of WindowBlinds you are showing as having installed. If you are not showing an update as being available in Impulse, then try clicking on 'Reset Data' under the Preferences selection.

Yup..Impulse does not show an update. I will try the reset data and see if that helps.

Edit: What prefrences are you talking about? In WindowBlinds or Impulse? I don't see any reset data option in either program.

OOPS!! Nevermind I found it.

Ok I did the reset data which found an update for Impulse but still no update for WindowBlinds.

Update Impulse and then restart Impulse. The WB7 update should show after that. Make sure that 'Show pre-release versions' is checked.

Ok did that and it saw the new update and installed it. Here's the new info from WB7

Still doing the same thing though...problem not fixed. Also I found this in the Impulse error log:

I then tried it again tonight and uninstalled WB7 and then before reinstalling this time I went through and removed all the WB7 stuff in Program Files and Programdata directories in case there was a bunged up file. I then had Impulse reinstall WB7 and when it was done I found this in the Impulse error log:

Don't know if these errors have anything to do with my problem but they don't look good.

I am coincidently having the exact same problem... it's getting on my nerves...  anyone found a solution?

Exception: Requested registry access is not allowed.

Are you running WindowBlinds and Impulse on an account with admin privileges?  Admin access is required to run these applications.

Updated network xml did not have expected revision (retrieved 88 / expected 89)
End of quote

You'll see this when Impulse updates XML. It's normal.

Context: UpdateApplicationFileList: impulse, impulse_images,PublicProduction

Message: Problem deserializing the XML or saving it.

Build #: 1309

Exception: Root element is missing.
End of quote

This would be specific to Impulse. If you continue to see this, try uninstalling Impulse, rebooting, and reinstalling.

I don't know about the install stuff, but I found the problem doesn't have to do with the install.  in my case i ran tweak vista and disabled all the startup programs I didn't want, and that fixed it.  I'm wondering if it has to do with Boot Order, or maybe a specific program at startup....

any ideas?

Well, glad to hear that worked, but I don't thin it would be a boot order issue.  Most likely some startup app was preventing access and now that it is removed the block no longer is there.
