Hello Distant Stars players!!!

We are pleased to start promoting a community around the mod we love to create and you love to play!

This topic is to help promote online play. No matter what you play, PvP, PvAI or PvPvAI! We will be having regular game times for everyone to gather and join up playing Distant Star!

The meeting place for setting up any Distant Stars game is currently Channel 'Distant Stars' on ICO. Once your there feel free to set up games among each other! Another thing we would like to promote is using Distant Stars in your game name. For example here are some game names: Distant Stars 1, Distant Stars 2, etc etc. You are all smart people. :P

Feel free to post up game time beyond the current set times, and letting us know your ICO name so we can add you to the list!!! We will hopefully see some of you ingame!!!

 Warning:

Be sure to turn your graphics settings down to lowest and turn off all of the special effects like bloom and skyboxes...  You're dealing with net traffic and other people's computers so to avoid unnecessary desyncs or disconnects, do your part and turn everything down.

We also suggest you Trim your Empire Tree to reduce mid-end game lag. Play with only the minimum ammount in your Empire Tree as you need!

Yeah, that's eastern standard time, we're in Daylight Saving Time so you have to add an hour.

iell see you all at 9 est just survived a small war between cops and G20 protesters with rocks and clubs (me and 1000's others cot in middle when prosters showed up and started destroying every thing)

4th?  Well, here in the States, that's Independence Day, so most, if not all of us will be celebrating our country's birth by blowing up a small portion of it.  Unless they're a wuss, then they'll only be shooting fireworks into the air...

hey carbon, this is your reminder to check the direction of various planetary buffs.

the homeworld bonus currently makes you take more damage...

and ima preety sure paradice and barren worlds are backwards as well...

if you ever wonder like... which way its supposted to be... look up like... phase jump inhibitors and see which value they have, and then give the planet the same, or opposite value depending on what you actually want.

-Increased cooldown of Scramble Bombers:

If you need help with the testing, I had an extremely shitty day at work today that really started before I even got there and the agony last for 15 hours before I finally had enough and walked out and took the rest of the week off...  So I've got some time to kill this week.

I, uh, strongly suggust not having the scramble bombers have your suggusted cooldown...

the way you have it set up, lv3 scramble bombers is unnoticablly less powerfull... and this is of course where the ability is the most broken. (as, at lv5+ a skirantra is significantly less limited by antimatter, and is actually able to spam sb, expecially in distant stars)

I would suggust that you change to cooldown times to 40/40/45 and increasing the am costs to 50/55/60.

current squads: 3.43/6.86/10.3

your proposal: 2.4/5.33/9

my proposal: 3/6/8

(20 am per squad at lv 3 is identical to what it was at at some other version number... buy more importantly, anything less is rediculous, expecially when compared to the AM costs of carrier cruisers to replace bombers)

 

Also: check the number of strike craft per sqaud.  I do believe they are not quite right IIRC... unless you purposfully lowered the units per sqaud (and buffed the individual sc) to lower lag.

(if the second thing is the case, i would suggust buffing the anti-strike craft abilities, flack burst and tele-push by an equal % that you increased the strike craft HP... else you would have effectivly nerfed these abilities.)

As per the current practice, make a new folder in the mods section, copy all of the files from the official DS Dip 0.7 mod into that folder, then overwrite those files with the MP v 1.1 patch.  You will get the checksum 71807385.

ah yea, my tunngle nick is sliverine. we usually do comp stomps since its hard to get consistent players and most of the players i find on regular days are usually pretty new to the game. Once we can get a couple of seasoned players we might be able to move onto relaxed pvp but for now, being able to thrash a pack of vicious comps is what i want to do... :)
