[MOD] DA - Warp Area Hitting Same Target Multiple Times 12/01/09

Hi everyone, I was reading a thread on the Demon Assassin's Warp Area ability the other day where lifekatana suggested allowing the ability to hit the same target twice instead of limiting it to just one hit. Finally figured out how to do it so here it is. This mod does not increase the number of warps, it just allows a target to be hit two times. So, for example, if you were in an area with six targets and you had Warp Area II, you would hit four targets once and two targets twice.

I also included a mod where Warp Area is allowed to hit the same target the maximum number of warps (4 or 8 times) as Sorian mentioned that it was originally designed that way. It was scrapped because it is indeed too strong (4000 damage in matter of 3.2 seconds to a single target) but it's fun to use against the AI for a laugh. Enjoy!

thats way too OP imo.

i reckon its fine as it is now, but i tweaked it in my DA skill tweaks mod just so that it hits all creeps in early waves.

To make it not op, how about if it hits the same target multiple times, it halves its damage each consecutive hit to that target...

example at level 2 the skills first hit would do 500, then the next 250, then 125, 62.5 ect ect... ?

I actually thought about that but I have no idea how you would code it. Another thought I had was limiting every hit after the first one to a defined amount. Like the first hit does 500 damage but every hit after the first does something like 30 to 50 damage if you're being hit by it again. So if you used Warp Area on a single target you would do something like 700-1000 damage and be immune to damage for the full 3.2 seconds. Again, I have no clue how you would code it.

I could probably make either one happen. Just say which you would prefer, and I can start work on it. I've actually already got a bit of familiarity with the warp area functioning...this is where I got the basis for my QoT aura to count mobs from:)

Wow, thanks for offering to code that Zechio. I'm not partial to either one so code whichever one you or the community think would be most useful. Thanks again!

NP:) I'm getting ready to take up a BS in Game Development ( programming ) at Full Sail soon, and can use as much of a head start as possible. NTM I have nothing to do until then, and find it kinda fun. I've actually got un-released mods that have a few issues I need GPG/SD to look into as well, hehe. Until they come back to me on those, I need something else to keep me busy. ( NTM my main one, the queen tap aura, tends to always stay 1 step ahead of me. I've been tweaking it for a week now, and always find some other problem...and always need a break from staring at that same code. )

Anyways, I think the one that modifies the damage sounds more interesting to code, and would scale better, so I will work on that one. ( NOTE: I'm not sure how much work I will get done today/tommorrow as I've got an early flight tommorrow. So, no promises on when it'll be done. )
