Some questions before purchasing the WindowBlinds 7 Upgrade

Hello!

If i upgrade my WindowBlinds 6 to the new version 7 using the link below ive posted at the bottom of this thread, will it be the full version WindowBlinds 7 software or will it just be a upgrade that requires version 6 to be installed??? and will all my WindowBlinds 6 skins collections work with this new version???

It should be the full version.

Skins that worked on WB6 will work on WB7.

As far as OS' are concerned, any skin that works well on Vista should work pretty well on 7. Some more than others, depending on design; but I've had no major complaints so far!

Thanks for quick response.

I take it ones ive upgraded to WindowBlinds 7, my previous WindowBlinds 6 purchase will be invalid, mean I won`t be able to reinstall and activate this old version???

If you are using Impulse then click the blue button oat the top left and choose preferences, then Archive & Install and make sure the "Archive Applications before updating" is checked.

Then impulse will make an Archive of version 6 before it installs version 7

This way you can uninstall 7 and install 6 from the archive later if you choose.

I have the latest version of WB6 stored on a memory stick with my purchase emails that includes my activation key, so just wondered if i should just delete this version ones upgraded to version 7.

All my existing skins for WindowBlinds are in windows folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds.

The thing I was wondering, do i need to make a backup of my skins before uninstalling version 6 of WindowBlinds, and then place them back in this folder ones WindowBlinds 7 is fully installed and activated???

I would think that Impulse is smart enough to sort through that.

However, it is a good idea to back up your skins, for events such as hard drive crashes or new computer purchases.

I always save my .wba's in a certain folder upon download, then I load them into WindowBlinds. I've upgraded or purchased new a couple of times in the last couple years and this practice has really helped!

It's ok, I don`t need answers for the question above anymore.

I`ve  just purchased and installed my new WindowBlinds 7 and so far im quite happy with it.

When purchasing I noticed you no longer get a download link in sent email to a install setup exe file like you did with version 6 of WindowBlinds and this time you have to install and use the Impulse software to download your purchased WindowBlinds and install it.
