Well, in all fairness, the majority of players, even in sin's smaller player pool, are individuals not playing with personal friends. They wait and wait for a game to pop up only to get booted from it, so yeah, I could understand how that could be maddeningally frustrating.

However this is probably more or less the dinkleberry on top of the crap sunday that was and always has been ico's online support for sins.

Even if Sins had Battlenet , perfect online support , super balanced updates and bug free gameplay , I doubt it be any different from it is now. People simply get bored of a game that to be honest wasnt best designed for online multiplayer sessions

ICO requires two things:

A whole lot of patience, and a whole lot of not taking people too seriously.

Any online game will have Jerks. All the clans have elitist pricks in them (as well as some nice guys, don't get me wrong) so you just gotta take it with a grain, or rock, or boulder of salt. And who knows, maybe one day you'll garner those guys respect by laying some smack down upon them, or helping them out of a tight spot. Bottom line is there's no ICO police to stop people from being a-holes, so all you can really do is just get over it and move on.

But one of the fraisers threw out a stat when entrenchment came out which was something along the lines of they had sold over 500,000 copies of sins, and that 75,000 had come online at one point or another. Now I know a large contingent of that pool lost interest, but I have a hard time believing that having a consistent pool of say 200-400 people on during US Eastern Standard Time would be such a large stretch.

Yes people lost interest, but I don't think that's the only reason. 75,000. And that was a year ago.

I wonder how many copies of Entrenchment they sold?  That might be an indicator of how well the game retains people's interest.

Wow.  This thread degenerated quickly and it didnt start high to begin with.  Forum karma does not mean much.  CI likely has some because he posts those fan fiction story things and not because of any help that he is on the forum but that is besides the point.  You can like or not like clans in general and mine specifically.  It doesn't much matter to me.  BIA wears their tags more than any of the rest so it is easy to focus on us as the "problem" with multiplayer.  You can scapegoat if you like but that does not stop you from alleviating your problem.  Host your own game and kick or don't kick out whomever you like.  Quit griping about it and take initiative yourself.  This whole thread makes mountains out of molehills.

Recently I haven't seen much of BIA involved in clan activities (ie clan vs clan, or 4BIA vs 6 etc). Mostly they just come and play with their tags on, and occasionally find one of their clanmates to join games with. I don't think its fair to blame the entire clan for what one of their players does, and to associate the attitude of the other players who wear those tags to only one of them. If that were the case, DT would be a league of A-holes just because of Siddy, but most of those guys are nice guys. Hell JJ taught me how to survive in MP.

The largest reason the MP community is so small isn't due solely to the whole asshole factor (every online game has its assholes), there are tons more reasons like:

SP games are super long, Im sure many think MP is the same way.

Smurfs make it difficult to trust that new players are actually new.

Newer online games sap the communities of older ones. (when SC2 hits, its gonna be bad news for sins MP)

Many don't like the fast paced competitive atmosphere of MP

Etc.

There was never a lot of "clan" games to begin with.  It is rare that we get enough of us on at one time and not in a game for a 4v4 or 5v5.  DT always smurfs so you can rarely catch them to get a game with them.  DU is just not big/active enough.  It was always a haphazard kind of thing when we did even when it was a planned game.  Sins is never going to be big enough to warrant a robust clan community and many of the ones that are in clans do not have enough pride to even wear their tags.  Instead they prefer to imbalance teams in their own favor or otherwise be free to act like a jackass with smurfing.  Such is the way things go.  Clans are by no means the downfall of online sins.  It already had the deck stacked against it in numerous ways.

Sins is not built for clans, its too small, but the fact that this forum post  is more like a witch hunt then anyhting else.

I would like to tell you now, if you DONT like playing with a certain person or clan, THEN DONT PLAY WITH THEM. Its simple, host your own game, its not hard, goto host new game - find the map you want and host it.

But I know that CI, Agent Of Kharma, and Alleginace will post some stupid post suggesting otherwise. Lets KILL THIS POST OFF NOW, there is no point in argueing over thi problem, like I said before, if you got a problem with us, or anyone else, just dont PLAY WITH US!

and like deciver said, some people on the game, we dont know if they are smurfs or noobs. Deciver and Darvin (Forum people) I never ever kicked them out of my games, nor has anyone else, BECUASE of the fact that we know that they are acutally people, and not smurfing. There records are below 100 (ages ago), but I never kicked them, due to me knowing that they are acutally players, and not smurfs.
