Browse Skin...Button in Skinstudio...

...don`t WORK!

Hi there!

I`m using WindowBlinds for a long time now, but never used Skinstudio, cause i thought that might be too tough to learn.

Now i thought "Lets give it a Try!"

When i open SkinStudio i see "New Skin" and "Open Skin".

When i click "Open Skin" a List of my installed Skins appears. Underneath that List is a Button that says: "Browse Skin".

Cause of the Fact that i have unused WBAs in a different Folder, that don`t show up in that List, i thought its a good Idea to learn with one of my unused WBAs.

So i click the "Browse Skin"-Button... but nothing happens!

No Explorer-Searchwindow opens... to "Browse a Skin"!

Did i got something wrong here? I mean... when it says "Browse Skin"... why can`t i BROWSE???

I am German... may be i understood something wrong. I downloaded the big PDF-Tutorial for SkinStudio... but my Search in it was unsuccessful.

Please tell me somebody how i can "BROWSE SKIN..."

Thanx in Advance...

Your Revanito

End of quote

Do a pc search for files with a .wba extion to find your other files.

The browse skin button is disabled in SkinStudio Standard & Pro.  It is only enabled in the DirectSkin edition of SkinStudio.

SKS will only edit a skin that is installed in WindowBlinds and so will appear in that list.  If you have a WBA file, double click it and the skin will be installed in WB.

Neil, maybe it would be a good idea to hide some controls that aren't usable with the installed edition of SKS?

"The browse skin button is disabled in SkinStudio Standard & Pro. "

Aaaaahaaa! So...THEN i understand!But... i could not guess this.

The Tip from PurrBall is something STARDOCK should think about, or (the easy way)... print a Line in the Manuals that explicitly SAYS so!

On the other Hand: To doubleclick on a .WBA to install the Skin... THAT i allready knew.

Thats the usual way i install my new skins, even if one has the option to LOAD a skin via the UI of WB.

So... thanx Neil for the Advice.
