Join Beta

if you pre-order before Beta 2 goes out, then you're in Beta 2.   They usually  have a window of  time when you can  pay right away (rather than pre-order and wait for  them to charge your credit card as per normal impulse pre-order process) so paypal users can get in.

This will then repeat for Beta 3, and so on until they move to Gamma (which is the phase just before release when it becomes private again and the  public doesn't get to see any of the Gamma   content until it releases)

I would note that they haven't confirmed that people will be let in after Beta 2. It would seem logical this will be allowed, but Stardock hasn't offically announced it.

However they have offically said if you preorder the game now, when Beta 2 hits you'll be allowed in.

No, next week we'll get beta 1C as far as I know (and nothing goes wrong), beta 2 will be for january next year at the earliest I think (if we count on 2 weeks between each beta 1 step...

Looking at the project calendar, beta 2 isn't scheduled until January 14th.

oh, right erm .... when was it that pre-orders get the new beta? I thought it was the week after thanksgiving ... am I to hear that it is not till January?

Rather, when does "beta entry" re-open, as opposed to Beta2. Or is entry only with the onset of beta-2?

So the real question is ... can we join on Beta 1-C?

You cant join Beta 1C. You can preorder whenever you want, but you won't get in until Beta 2, and then that will close for a while.

Frogboy, Jan. 14 is the day before my birthday, that wolud be a great gift, even if I bought it for myself on Oct 18. 09. I am gonna to be looking forward to joining Beta2, please don't let me down!

oh ... somehow I thought Beta 1-C was "next beta" that would be coming out before christmas. This is the time I thought people were first re-allowed to join beta.

It seems that I have been horribly wrong for months

I have to say that I doubt that Beta 2 will start so soon. There are many things to either fix or implement from scratch: AI, Diplomacy, Quests, City buildings, Ecnomical, Magic & Dynasty systems. I highly doubt it can all be done in a month and a half. That said, I REALLY don't want these things to get pushed; more reasonable attitude would be to enter beta 2 in may (no, thiz no joke!).

Well, I certainly hope those of us who pre-ordered in last month wont have to wait until January for Beta Access, fun or not. Especially since the pre-order page states that Beta access opens up again at "the end of fall." Heck, you could consider TODAY to be the end of fall.

I'll be here waiting either way, of course.

Been trying to get an answer from the sales end of things, they last said money would not be taken from my account until the game was ready, I wish they would just take it and send me some kind of assurrence that I will be in Beta 2. I need to buy Christmas gifts and do not want to be streched out waiting for the charge to hit my account!

If you pre-order the game, your account will be billed at the moment you're able to download the game. So, either when you are able to join the next beta, or when the game is released.

My bad. wrong beta date.  Beta 1E is scheduled for January 14th.  Beta 2 is currently scheduled for February 25th.

I'll see if we can open things up a little bit for the end of the year but really, beta 1/2 are NOT designed to be fun in terms of game play but are fun if you want to be part of the molding process.
