More bandwidth has arrived

With the WinCustomize CD nearly ready, WinCustomize has purchased (for a month) more bandwidth. Hopefully you can already tell the difference in speed.

Well, not for long, I'm going to suck it _all_ up just now!!

But now that you mention it, it does appear faster. Not that the bandwidth is going to have any impact whatsoever when one is on a p75 with 6k/s cable modem...

I see a difference... I finally downloaded a Nuvem wallpaper that I gave up on earlier after 20 minutes. Cable modem or DSL didn't seem to help. I tried both and it's been painfully slow.

...Wish they could do some thing about the band width problems on deviantart ! [rrrr!] it is very,very,very,very,slowwww.. I gave up trying to upload there in the end.

As soon as I find a job I'll purchase the CD. THat is for two reasons. 1) I want to help the best skinning community on the planet 2) I will have a virgin PC that will need all the skins and then some.

I have no problems with speed either here or at Devart, and I only have a 56k modem, and it isn't even a V90 standard, just a k56 flex. Strange isn't it? Could it be something to do with individual ISP's?

Very good to see how dedicated Stardock has become to this project and how integral it is to their future.

We might of not seen eye to eye on a few things but I must say on a high level I am very happy to see the way things have developed.

Long live Wincustomize!
( maybe I shouldn't say that being that it didn't work to well for skinz )

P.S. Very big thanks to Alexandrie as I know she has been the one that dedicated the most to this project.

We trippled the site's bandwidth yesterday, that's why it's fast now.

The site was just too slow so we went ahead and got more bandwidth on the assumption that the CD which goes out on Monday will sell reasonably well. Hopefully in a month we're not back to where we were.

It wold almost be worth uploading a screenshot of our bandwidth graph. It was maxed out for days straight and then we added it and then boom it jumped way up. That's why it was so slow, we weren't even close to having enough bandwidth. Which is amazing because if someone told me a year ago that we'd have this much bandwidth I would have laughed.

It was so painful doing anything on the site though, on my cable modem I was downloading at 3K per second. Today I downloaded a DX theme at 240K per second.
