Mod Library

Since the library is shut down for soon a year now, I was wondering what would be the best place to submit mods and still get public attention. Are the forums here a suitable location for people to be linked with mods? The problem here is that threads are forgotten quite quickly and then people stop downloading your mod. I was thinking about a webpage that GC2 community often visit and there will be a place to download player submitted mods. Something like the library. Except for I-Mod which is known, is there any other place?

Hello? Is there anybody out there? Looks like the community really died off on us. So what, all there's left of the GC2 forums are these stupid threads on who makes the last post or why would you 'ban' the guy who posted above you? That's all is left. What a shame.

Hi there....... I thought I was the only one left......... a fellow by the name of Maiden666 also haunts the GameTalk boards from time to time......... but other than that and my STILL ongoing Metroid mod I'm about the only one left........ I plan to release the mod's economic skeleton soon (largely without finished gfx)....... if anybody gives a rat's rear.............

I actually just recieved this game, and as much as I wanted to mod, I am woefully unaware of any alternative sites to upload... Is I-Mod still working?

My god this place is dead... But unfortunately more then I thought, you know since this place is dead has anyone ever thought of making a File Front Page for GalCiv 2???

Good idea. I think there would be some renewed interest in modding the game if there was an easily available space tp upload and display stuff in detail and comment on it.

yay for resurrecting old threads! :P

Yeah well... the point of having a *local* library where we can "still" upload our stuff is just that -- the place is genuine, owned & operated by SD staff and we can actually reach *much* more people (as in formal & pro-active membership and true believers in the game!).

Sadly, everything i've worked on over the last few months (ie; XWorlds & CoSH) cannot be shared with anyone *HERE* unless they fix it.

Yes but as is shown with such ages as KOTOR, having a filefront site really does help the modding community. I'd never want these forums to die because this is where most of the tutorials, help, encouragement etc. are to be found, (hopefully), but unless the Metaverse thing gets updated and enlarged I think it might be hindering modders more then helping them. Thank god for I-mod though... :)
