I was wondering if you can pre-purchase Elemental, download it in beta form and play around with it like I did with Gal Civ before it was released in final form? I've been eye-balling this game for months now and was reading thru some of the posts on this board and was just curious.
Just out of curiosity, when does the next round of betas start? If we preorder now, when will we be able to play the beta?
not till early december or Christmas time IIRC
What I would like to know is ... if someone pre-orders NOW, and the time to sign up for the new Beta (Christmas) comes and goes, are they automatically in the new beta (because of the pre order) ?
Yes, if they pre-order they will automatically get into the next round of betas (whenever that is). And Christmas is only about a month away, so not that long of a wait. 
well, the new beta is whenever beta 2 opens. They are still on Beta 1B about to go to 1C last I checked, and their schedule calls for updates all they way to Beta 1G, which means for it to be "christmas" we have to go through D, E, and F (not to mention G) in a month for beta 2 to arrive.
Of course, they may open it up again before then, who knows. But other estimations I've heard, from the devs, is early 2010 for Beta 2, which I'd say was a much safer bet.
