Can we get a refund?

This is by the worst game ever wiith its constant desync's, players quitting right after the 3min mark, all the lagging, etc. Heck, hardly anyone plays it now because there are so many problems with it. This game could've been so good, but you guys blew it big time. So, I'm requesting a refund.

Anyone else wanting a refund, post here and maybe if enough people complain, we can get our money back because obviously the money we spent on this game, did nothing for the technical side of things.

About which game are you ranting anyway?

demigod obviously.

but you won't get a refund. although i agree with you, you at least played the game for quite a long time. and partially i think you surely enjoied it. i think this makes up for the money.

Is the OP talking about the beta test of Elemental?  It is difficult to sympathize with someone who communicates so poorly.

I have enjoyed the games that haven't experienced any problems. Problem is, those games aren't very many, When most losses are due to people waiting until the 3min mark to quit, desyncing or just quitting altogether because they are tards, then then there is something wrong.

I would gather to say at least half of the games I've played are due to one of those problems.

I agree with Vandenburg: an indication of which game you are talking about would help greatly.

For my part, I've been happy with every game I've bought that was either made or published by Stardock.  Yes, they've had some problems, but not too many to make me anywhere near as upset as you.  And the fun I've had has vastly outweighed the problems.

Edit: Well, I look silly with people answering my questions before I can post them.

On a side note: You can't really blame Stardock for the behavior of the players of it's game.  It'd be much like blaming Microsoft or Bungie for the corpse-humpers in Halo.

People don't quit Demigod because of leavers, bugs, lag, desync, balance, or anything like that. You are missing the point.

A team game has to provide systems to make people meet, create teams, play competitions, etc.

All should be done to let people play in team. But no, we have individual stats which make players selfish and picky. People who play in team, the so-called "premades", are avoided. This is not a 1on1 game, but the ladder gives individual stats, ignoring the fact that people play in teams.

Everyone cry about details while the most important problem of Demigod is that it's a team game without any team aspect. New demigods will not make new players stay, because low demigod count is absolutely not what makes them leave.

Demigod needs (all in-game) :

  • Clan creation system, with clan members grades, custom clan banner, match request from clan to clan, and whatever anyone would imagine.
  • Automatic matching system between teams (premades AND clans)
  • Automatic matching system for players alone
  • Automatic tournament system (with rules variations)
  • Team stats, or player level, instead of detailed individual stats, because this is NOT a single player game like Supreme Commander. And by single-player you know what I mean. It has sense on Supreme commander because people were playing 1on1, but on Demigod players are NOT playing 1on1 (most of the time).
  • Calendar where you can find all events like tournaments, patch releases, or whatever useful to the community
  • Chat channels where everyone is immediately put after having logged in
  • Efficient friendlist with features like "join friend's room", "send offline message", "create group", etc
  • Automatic saves of tournament matches replays, available from an in-game replay browser
  • And so much more could be added...

All those features need to be available IN GAME. A new player do not want to go on the forums, IRC, or any website to enjoy his game. Demigod should not take example over first person shooters like Counter Strike or Quake, but other pvp games like Guild Wars where everything is done for team-play.

People crying about technical problems just started killing the game, because GPG/SD really has more important to do than fix details. I feel disappointed when I see people saying that new patch could bring new players and/or make players stay. Or less lag. Or game price... This is so wrong.

A lot of the problems are caused by people not by SD - crappy connections, rage quits and the like.  They worked a ridiculous number of hours to get it stable for most people and to insinuate that they have done nothing is quite insulting.  The devs are real people remember.  Anyway SD is not the developer of the game, and while they did much of the online stuff they didn't develop the main game.

Name me any MP game that doesn't have these problems in some shape or form.

I can think of a lot of games I've bought in the past that have had hardly any problems. The problem is, they rushed the sell date and thought they could fix the issues afterwards and lost a lot of fans in the process.

The lobby's are a literal ghost town now because so many people have been fed up with this game.

And I also agree about the clan comments. There is even a clan button on the Demigod page, but has nothing there. LAME and just plain lazy.
