Controlling transparancy

Whats the secret of the pink area

Hi All. Very new to this. I've been toying around wth borders. I surmised that the pink areas are to be transparant.

However, When I alter them an any way or use the exact same color to make a transparent area. The pink becomes visible.

Whats the secret?

I am assuming you are making UIS2 frames.

Magic pink has to be EXACTLY 255, 0, 255. There can be no variation in the pink pixels. Also, if you have any transparency on your frame and the pink in another layer underneath it (in photoshop), the pink will show through it and appear on the blind when you save it as .bmp.

Colored parts have to be solid, and pink has to be perfect.

Also, when you save your .bmp be sure to save it as 24 bits. Saving it as 32 bits will make it show too.

there's probably more ways than one to do this however, I have just started using masks to create semi-transparency or varying degrees of transparency. once you create a mask you can save it as an alpha channel. black being fully transparent and white having no transparency. the shades of gray in between provide your degrees of transparency.

hope I said this correct, I'm still learning as well.
