Dual Screens on Windows 7 64 bit

There is an issue/bug that I've been having and I'm sure others have had the same experience.  Since I installed Windows 7 64bit, Dark Avatar and Twilight would start with a blank screen and then crash when I would run the program with two monitors.  It worked fine in Vista 64bit dual screen mode.  I could even keep the CPU gadget on the second monitor so I could see when my resources were getting low.  When I disabled the second screen in Appearance and Personalization the program runs fine.

Attention Stardock: Please patch this problem.  This fix must only be a temporary work-around and not a permanent solution.  I want to use dual screen mode!  Thank you.

I just bought GalCiv Ultimate off impulse, had the same problem. Dual displays on a GTX280, windows 7 64 bit. Just crashed on me straight away. Very frustrating, but my roommate sugjested using single display. Sure enough, played fine with only one display enabled. Apparently a somewhat common problem, he'd run into it on other games.

Once in galciv, I set it to windowed mode at 1680x1050 and it works great now with both displays back on. Behaves like world of warcraft with windowed + full screen options; consumes primary display only and leaves secondary alone, can just mouse out of the game and do whatever real work I have going. no annoying titlebar or anything. My favorite way to run these type of games, so thanks for that. Just need the crash-with-two-displays-when-running-fullscreen fixed so that people don't freak out.

I had the same issue (Windows 7 64 bit).  In the shortcut for the game I disabled visual themes and desktop composition and now it runs fine with both monitors.

Oh, wanted to add I still have the issue if I tab out of the game and then tab back in it sometimes won't come back, forcing me to kill it from task manager.  THAT is irritating.

Stealing a quote from Kryo, since he said it better than me:

Go to My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor, open the file prefs.ini, and make the following changes:

Change
DisplayWidth=1024
DisplayHeight=768
ColorDepth=32
Fullscreen=1

To
DisplayWidth=(Your desktop width)
DisplayHeight=(Your desktop height)
ColorDepth=32
Fullscreen=0

Then save the file and start the game.
