problem with deskscapes 3 and fences

So I'm running the release version of deskscapes 3 and the rc version of fences. The problem is that whenever I choose desktop collage as the active dream, the label on my fences disappear, and the quick hide feature (double-click) of fences won't work.  I've never experienced this in the previous version of deskscapes 3.

I'm also having issues with Deskscapes 3 and Fences Pro. Whenever I run a dream, my icons appear on screen and I cannot hide them. From my perspective I would like to be able to run a dream or view a wallpaper unhindered.

For mine, having the ability to turn icons on and off is one feature I consider a must so If anyone has a fix so that (fences can be retained) icons can be hidden while dreams are being displayed I would be keen to hear about it.  Failing this I will be removing Deskscapes (which I would rather not do if it can be avoided).

Now this is wierd. I tried tinkering with the configuration and noticed something strange. I've tried changing to other dreams, but the same thing keeps happening. So I clicked on "Disable DeskScapes", and guess what. Deskscapes was not disabled, AND the labels of the fences appeared and quick-hide worked.

So if I want to try to use other dreams, I do this:

1) click on the dream I want to use

2) click "Apply Changes"

3) click "Disable DeskScapes"

4) click "Apply Changes" (at this point, fences will now work)

So whenever I change to other dreams, I have to repeat the steps above, to make fences work.

I was running Fences Pro Beta on Windows 7 (32 Bit) and installed DeskScapes 3 the day it was released. After a reboot I experienced the problems descibed in this thread, whenever a dream was running my fences were displayed even if they were hidden before, the label on my fences disappeared, and the quick hide feature (double-click) of fences won't work. A uninstall/re-install of Fences Pro Beta fixed this.

I'm also seeing this problem, with Deskscapes 3 and the minimal version of Fences, under Windows Vista 32-bit.  Anyone else find another solution?  If I try JCR2323's steps it results in disabled Deskscape but enabled Fences (as it should).  Otherwise same issue, the two programs won't share the sandbox. Thoughts?

I don't see "Disable DeskScapes" anywhere. Is there a step missing?

W7 Home Premium x64 ... Using Deskscapes 3 makes Fences appear (without opacity or Headers). Stopping Deskscapes and going back to regular wallpaper makes Fences disappear.

Same problem here. Strange thing is that it initially worked, but all of a sudden yesterday it started with the problems described in this thread.

So for now I can not use DeskScapes, because I need the quick-hide feature from fences more.

Finally something really strange: If I enable DeskScapes and the icons on my desktop should be hidden by fences' quick-hide (but are not) and then press (and optionally hold) the left mouse button, the icons disappear for the time the mouse button is pressed down.

[Edit:] I use Windows 7 x64 Professional.

I have the same issue with Windows 7 x64   - with Deskscapes installed and Fences Pro beta 1.0 this issue continues to persist. I did not have this issue with the non-pro version. It appears to affect all Dreams.

now using fences pro, and i'm still experiencing the same issue.

I also have same issue.

I am running Fences Pro v1.0 (released on 12/19).

My OS is WIN 7 64 bit RTM

When running Deskscapes (3.0 version released 12/18) together with Fences Pro the Fences "dissapear" and all of the icons that are hidden and contained in a fence all become visible . This is immediately fixed by disabling Deskscapes. Occurs with multiple dreams.

I hope this can be fixed.

Thank you.

It could be that your antivirus software is interfering with Fences and/or Deskscapes. Try adding an exception to your antivirus for Fences to see if that's the problem.

Has this been solved? I am experiencing the same issues when I today bought the Object Desktop suite.

Also experiencing this. Fences will not hide when using deskscapes animated desktops.

ALSO, when using animated deskscapes, any windows gadgets I have running remain on top of any open windows. When having internet explorer open for example, and maximized, the desktop gadgets (the ones that come from microsoft) show up on top of the page I'm browsing. I've had to disable the gadgets for now.

EDIT: Never mind... I found the update to Fences Pro and now everything seems to be working as it should, including the Windows Desktop Gadgets.

I am still having issues with this and have already installed the latest versions.  I contacted customer support and we round in circles for a bit about this, and they finally said they couldn't solve it and offered me a refund.

However, I chose to keep the program and work around it.  I still would like this issue fixed.  It's been quite a few months that this has been broken for me.

If anyone needs a workaround, this is what I did...

1. Create a new text file

2. call it restart explorer.bat (name is optional, but must include .bat as the extension)

3. right click and edit

4. type in

@echo off

taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
start explorer.exe

5. save it on your desktop or wherever.

6. once you computer is finished booting, double click this batch file.

(this is what worked for me, although it is hardly the solution I was looking for... still waiting for Stardock to fix this)

I have had that happen once in awhile. I just logoff and log back in tand hat fixes it for me.
