ETA to the next build?
I was wondering if we have hopes for a new build today? And if not, how things are shaping up on the next 1B update?

I think we'll see 1c next
No build this week...we're getting the Research stuff ironed out (it's CONSIDERABLY more fun and rewarding than the old system) as well as basic code cleanup and economic improvements. When you get Beta1C I'm sure you'll be pleased ![]()
Ah well it is good news that we are getting 1C next, I thought there was going to be another 1B build...a stable 1C next week or hopefully before the long Thanksgiving holiday would sure be nice! ![]()
So will the income system finally work? ![]()
Well, I'd somewhat like to see another 1B build, but I guess we must march on. I am really looking forward to some magic and adventure, but those are still some ways off.
I'm gonna say next week, maybe the week after at the longest. Go Stardock, Go!
I blame Dragonage for any delays ![]()
Yeah, no hurry on the next patch... ![]()
Before Thanksgiving ya think? 4 wonderful work free days of beta testing goodness....it's not like you guys do emergency patches of betas anyway, right? ![]()
Boogie, please fix the crashes also. I cannot complete a game at all in Elemental right now, because of the caravan related crash, what I've reported before. ![]()
Does that really need to be said
I'm sure they will fix as many crashes as they can.
I vote for more crashes. Preferably to a blue screen. Even better would be the video-card frying crashes Frogboy promised but never delivered. Then I could justify buying a new rig.
Darn Frogboy and his empty promises...
Well huh, I've mentioned it because it's a really annoying crash [Like I've said I cannot complete a game at all because of it], which wasn't fixed in the last 2 patches. ![]()
Welcome to game testing. You have to remember that priorities are very different in a test stage, especially a very early test like Elemental. While the issue is major to you, because you can't play, that doesn't mean it is major to them yet. They've got a lot of things to be done. Their concern at this point isn't making it work well for everyone, it is developing a good game. So while it sucks for you that you can't play, they may have a lot more important concerns at this time.
Part of it is that this isn't want many companies would call a Beta, many would call it an Alpha. The game is not feature complete yet. So the majority of development time is spent on working on features, getting the game to the point that it should be. Once that is done you enter the stage that is normally called Beta, where the game is complete feature wise (more or less, there's always tweaks) but it is time to squash the bugs.
Just keep that in mind. When the game is getting near done then yes, they'd better make sure to get rid of all the crash bugs. However for now? Not the main goal. If some testers have problems, oh well that's life.
Frogboy really wasn't kidding about the "This won't be a lot of fun," thing. This is not your typical MMO beta where everything is pretty much done and they just want to see how it works on various systems. This is a game in very early development, and as such one with a lot of problems and changes.
...tap, tap.
Been pretty quiet on the forums lately. Dev journal is getting all cobwebby and stuff. ![]()
Well they were off for Thanksgiving...
new build is Thursday apparently.
Let's hope so, because as it is now, there isn't much happening of the forums, and of course we can't post new bugs
.
