New person VERY confused :S

Ok I just purcahsed window blinds, I installed impulse, after numerous errors with things, I finally go tit to download WB's, I loaded it, I have no skins / Themes.

It took me to a site, wincustomize, and everywhere I click, it gives me an error saying "Sorry, there was a problem loading this page.
Please use your browser's 'back' button or visit the WinCustomize home page"

I've tried in different browsers.

Please tell me I can get skins / themes for free? I just  bought windowblinds, I would hate to have to purchase every new skin as well.

Please assist.

Actually, another question.

When I first installed "Impulse" I had alot of things I could install/download.

I had purchased the full "Object Desktop" for 49.95 dollers. (Actually, 30 quid Im from UK)

After a reboot, I only see some of the things I can now install,

Bootskin Vista

Desktop X

Icon Packager

 My colours

 Object Desktop Launchpad

Object Dock

 Skinstudio

Window Blinds.

Am I missing things?

Sorry for double questions in same post. Thanks for your time.

Ahh Ok, thanks. Are the skins free?

Most of them.

Most of the skins are free.

As for your other question - there are 2 versions of Object Desktop, The regular and the Ultimate

You seem to have purchased the Regular version and have the programs available to download for that version.

Here are the comparison versions of Object Desktop

Sorry for all the questions, im a newb :D

Ill edit this for one last question - WB7 is apparently free next month since I just purchased it, This will be emailed to me? (Stupid Q i know)

Send an email to sales@stardock.com and explain what you would like to do - they will take care of it for you.  You may have to wait until tomorrow for a reply as it is after hours now.

Object desktop 2010 is just around the corner and when it's released you will get all of it. See this thread for details.

One thing, the Ultimate package is going away in December and all will be merged into one edition. If you do upgrade to the Ultimate package before then, you will gain a year on your subscription when they are merged. Definatly worth upgrading now since you'll end up with an extra year for around half price.

I asked about this in another thread. Wire0Z3 must have found a account settings link that allows animated gifs to be uploaded. That needs to be fixed before the forums end up looking like a 70's disco ball.

On that note, I need to find an animated gif avatar of a 70s disco ball...

This is a hot tip for firefox:

Go to about:config, find image.animation_mode, and set it to none. Voilá, animated gif pest is gone forever. :)

Ofcourse, it'll block all useful gif animations too... But any serious site use flash for animations anyway. :)

Are all these animated gifs trying to fill the geocities void?

I've seen a few used for instructional purposes. "Connect this to that, like this"-style things. But as I said, such things are usually flash based these days. :)
