ObjectDock "Always On Top" Problem

ObjectDock always stays on top although I said not to

I have a problem with ObjectDock Plus 1.90. I made myself a Tabbed Dock with two tabs. It's really cool but unfortunately I have a problem. Everytime I start Windows (after Shut Down, Logoff, or Restart) the dock appears "Always On Top" even though I've set it not to be. Everytime the "Always On Top" option appears ticked (although I have disabled it the previous time) and I have to disable it again to fix the problem.

Can you help me because I don't want the dock to be always on top... Will it work if I install a previous version sth. like ObjectDock 1.11?

I believe your other problem was with it staying on top when you had something open. Now it looks like it's just sitting on top of your wallpaper. If you want to hide it all together open Dock Configuration than go to Positioning. Check

"hide off screen when not in use"

When you want to see it just move your cursor to the edge of your screen where you have the dock. It will pop out for you. When you open what you want it will go back hiding.

Yes, that was the problem, I just didn't explain it right for which I'm sorry... It's staying over all the windows I open until I uncheck that option displayed on the photo. The strange thing is that sometimes even if I uncheck it, the dock still stays over everything and then I have to open the Configuration window, check the option "Always on top" and then uncheck it... The other strange thing is that in the Configuration window the option "Always on top" is unchecked, but in the menu (on the photo) it's checked when I start Windows... Any solutions...?

You are talking about the dock on the left right? If so when you have a dot in the area that says

"hide off screen when not in use"

It should hide totally but if it doesn't I have no solutions as mine works fine doing that. Maybe someone else will so up and be able to help you.

But I don't want the dock to autohide...

It will always show on top of the wallpaper unless you auto hide and if you don't want to do that than go back to what I said yesterday and it will stay underneath anything you open on top of it. Make sure you have a dot in "Hide in background when not in use" That is all I can advise as it has always worked fine for me. Sorry I can't be more help but don't know what else to advise.

I have the same problem.

Running Windows7 and ObjectDock 1.9, my tabbed dock opens as always on top, even though it is not checked on the positioning box.

If I check the always on top box, and then uncheck the box, everything is back to normal.

I have to do this everytime I restart the computer.

Any ideas?

I use Startup Delayer to set a 20 sec delay for ObjectDock to overcome this and which works 99% of the time. Possibly setting a longer delay would make it work 100% of the time but the CIA (!) have released a reboot ObjectDock docklet (the one with the black icon) which also comes in handy for the other 1%.

I've used Startup Delayer for years on my XP boxes, but was reluctant to add it to Win7 since everything starts so fast with no other problems.

Finally gave it a shot as mystified suggested (Thanks mystifeid).

This solved the problem!
