Last person to post wins, unless they are a moderator or admin.

Basically, this game is played so that the last person who post wins. What do they win? The ThreadKiller's Achievement; The honor of being the last person to post by virtue of the content of their post. However, moderators, admins, and anyone else who has the ability to lock the thread are disqualified from winning the ThreadKiller's Achievement, if they win by locking. If the thread is won by method of locking, the "winner" gains the Achievement Of Reprehensible Epic Lameness.

CHAAARGE!! sounds way better than "YIELD AND ENCIRCLE!

It's also waaaay more dramatic. And cooler. Yeah, it's just better overall.

Single word, single syllable responses are always more dramatic. Think of all the coolest things ever screamed in movies. It's almost always single syllable words.

battle cries are awesome yes

but good battle tactics and training will always prevail

though they make for meh dramatization

Warhammer 40,000 looks at good battle tactics&training and says, "WTF is this shit?!"

And then proceeds to win by either:

1. Throwing more men/tanks at the problem.

2. Throwing super-infantry at the problem.

3. Throwing wierd non-psyker psuedo-sorcery at the problem.

4. Telling the laws of physics to fuck off.

5. Krumpin' wuteva needs krumpin'.

6. Other.

I stopped at "6. Other" because I didn't want to go through every race. Just most of the ones I like (Guard/Marines/DE/sort-of Chaos/Orks).

lol true, but when you consider it is futuristic, those new weapons merely change the way the tactics operate

if you play guard prepare to die unless playing with my special mod i made for the cpu game

yeah, well he was talking about the original table top game

Imperial Guard is much more awesome there with the many variety of Tanks they can get.

Except of course that in TT Guard is widely considered a very powerful race.

And at Winter Assault's release, the Guard could wipe the floor with any other faction.

AND a common cry on the RelicNews forums has been to "Nurf IG!!" because of how powerful they are.

Of course, this was then succeeded by "Buff IG!!" when the Guard was nerfed to oblivion.

Most of those tanks are available in the Firestorm over Kronus mod for DoW:DC.

Not all, but most (they can't get Manticores/Hydras yet, and a few other things).

True, mods bring in a lot that the Relic devs decided not to bring in. But if he is not ever played the table top version he would not know about their true power. That and being able to field 30 lasguns to 1 by any other race.

Actually the IC true power is their artillery. They can win a table top game in the first turn. They can nuke your army from across the battle field.

Only the Orks can really survive against it and only if they hold a good chunk in reserve. Even then depending the point cap, those Heavy weapons teams will take care of any Horde.

True, though if you play the Space Marines in IG style they are even more dangerous, though you don't quite get the arty for it. Downside is that you don't get to quite see how flexible the Space Marines are with all their other toys.

I personally think IG are better than the Marines for the simple reason that you can get nearly 4 10-strong squads of Guardsmen for the same price as 10 Marines.

But Marines do have:

Terminators, Land Raiders, and Vindicators.

And then you have the Dark Eldar, with their Razorwing Jetfighters and Voirdraven bombers. IMO, there's no army that has a "SPEEEEEEEED!!!!" feel to it but the DE.

Not even their pussy Craftworld cousins can come close in the "Ima friggin' blur Im so fast" department.

Yeah the DE are true masters of hit and run. But if they get hit, BOOM!

But that's the cool part. If you play them right, you never get hit.

I actually kinda like that about the DE; in a nutshell it's pretty much a "if you get shot, you deserved it" mentality.

Plus, they have Wyches. And Bloodbrides. And Succubi. And Lelith Hesperax.

lol

yeah, I still remember the one mission report I read in White Dwarf mag. It was DE vs IG. DE was going good for the first two turns as the IG couldn't hit anything. But the next two turns the IG hit with almost every gun. The DE came apart. It was hilarious.

I assume that it was an old 3rd Edition DE army? It's not that the new 5th edition army is OMGWTFBBQ, just that I'd like to see a 5th Ed DE vs 5th Ed IG battle report.

I think it would be pretty interesting.

Of course, I'd LOVE to see a DEvsIG battle report where the DE player loaded up on Razorwings and Voidravens, and the IG player loaded up with Valkyries and Vendettas.

That would be pretty epic.
