Widgets Not Running!!!

Borked Reinstall?

Help!!!  I had to run a system recovery and set my PC back to it's just purchased state. Now I can't get widgets to start with windows!!  Always did before. The DX Widget runs in the task manager, but not on the desktop. I cleared my cache, I verified and reinstalled DX, I remade the widget....no good!!

So no Widgets run?  Or are you just talking about one that you are building?

Just widgets or DX as well? Have you tried anyone else's widgets?

Also...why did you have to do a system restore? Are all your drivers updated?

End of DrJBHL's quote

I have never gotten DX to run at startup on Veesta. I didn't do a system restore. I did a system recovery....one of those that wipes the hard drive and renews the rig to store bought state. Funny thing is, It usually restores the recovery drive, this time it didn't....amongst some other things. Looking at having to retry a reinstall. Or wait till the 22nd and upgrade to a full version of 7.

At this point, I'd subscribe to technet, and do a clean install of 7/64 bit.

This may be a dumb question, but have you tried simply throwing the widget in your startup folder? (if its not already there....) Also disabling and re-enabling the startup entry might work..........its worth a try....
