Loss of effects after long play time - mainly explosions ver 1.041

I've noticed a graphics glitch with all the games I play in Sins Entrenchment.  After approx 3-4 Hrs play the explosions just stop displaying and not long after so do alot of the other effects (such as the red 'disc' effect from the Vasari Planet Laser).

A reload of Sins seems to solve this problem completely and the game also speeds up again even though the same amount of ships and action is still going on, does anybody know a fix for this that does not involve me saving then restarting the game?

I've always seem to have had this problem - even through several different drivers.

System Spec;

Vista 64bit (service pack 2)

Intel Pentium Q9550 Quad Core

6 gig ram

Nvidia Geforce 260 GTX driver - 190.62 WHLQ

Creative Labs Xi-Fi sound card

I have this exact same problem. Although I think it tends to happen even faster for me. The only way to get them back is as you said, to restart, but also I find if I zoom in really close then after a few seconds the effects start to show up again to a certain extent. But only while I'm zoomed in really close, like almost all the way zoomed in.

 I assumed it was a lack of ram but seeing how you have a ton of ram and also have the problem I guess that must not be it. Although I'm curious, how much ram does your video card have? Mine only has 320mb of dedicated ram and I think another 744mb of shared ram from the system since the dxdiag shows the card as having 1064mb when I know the card only really has 320mb.

In an earlier version there was an issue with one of the particle types not expiring, causing the game to continuously grow the particle count until it hit the limit. Try increasing the MaxParticleCount value in your user.setting file and see if that helps. If so some of the newer particles might have the same issue.
