How do I get the original destop back?  I'm running Windows XP Pro x64bit. The taskbar does not run(invisible).

if you don't get a desktopx menu right clicking on the desktop

the go into all programs and click desktopx or desktopx helper

switch to builder mode

when it  reloads you will also get the builder settings window

under 'desktop' uncheck 'hide the taskbar'

Hit ctrl/alt/delete and close DesktopX in the task manager.

It is not running.

I had selected a DesktopX theme and saved my original.  However, I can't find the original so I selected the Classic Desktop but the taskbar is invisible.

Classic Desktop is a DesktopX desktop. So, if it is running, then DesktopX is running. If DesktopX is not running, then make certain you don't have the taskbar set to autohide.

is it on auto hide?

move you mouse to the edge of the screen where it's supposed to be and see if it pops up

I can hit the Windows key on my keyboard and bring up the window that has Programs, Turn Off Computer, etc.  I can right click and select Properties and unclick Auto Hide the Taskbar and click OK.  The desktop icons move over (I have the taskbar on the left side of the screen) and I can't see the taskbar.  I have to hit alt + tab to see the programs that are open.  still can't get my taskbar to be visible.
