Do I need to install Stardock Central?

I previously used Stardock products on a system running Win XP but have now migrated to a laptop running Vista Home Basic. In the past I would have installed stardock central then the programs I have access to. I assume I still need to take this route before installing Impulse or does Impulse remove the need to use stardock central.  Would appreciate feedback on this.

SDC for me was easy as can be

although Impulse itself is quite pretty

And I found all the pokes, the rhymes and jokes

On the issues of both quite witty

But if you're one of those hicks who lives in the sticks

Then a party line on Impulse it ain't

Connection issues arise (told so you have no suprise)

But your blood pressure may cause you to faint

Not casting stones, nor breaking your bones

So hold off before you thump

To get to my 'house' will make you a grouse

Cuz patties and muffins, you must jump

I'm a Troll you see. It's plain as can as be.

but I don't like it when people go 'whooomp'

I live in the woods, don't have lots of goods

Cuz my 'house' is really a stump.

But do not despair, scream and tear hair

For there may be an solution most grand

If you have a not too crappy, wireless lappy

Impulse Anywhere is on hand

And I must mention (to forestall discontention)

Some old apps are no longer supported

But for help to prevail, send Support an email.

It works, the forums reported
