No Size Mods on Ships Components

Making sizes in warships a bit more different

Do you feel sometimes that the size mods kind of take away from the game? I've felt that the differences between huge and large sized hulls for example aren't that big.

 

Would anyone be interested in a mod to remove the size mods on the game? it would be a very simple 1 file mod.

It is more a question of balancing the assets while the corresponding techs become available, from scouting tasks to an all out war against AI - we still need variable sizes to pack a deck of attack or faster engines.

I've altered these values in X-Worlds ships, but for different reasons...

TSMLCH (Tiny to Huge) default sequence was; 16,24,48,80,60,150.

I modded that to be; 20,32,56,92,76,128. (For example, the cargo hull has been sized 16+ for an extra module & just 4+ to the scout makes a whole lot of difference for the early exploration "Range power" of AIs, etc.) Note that HitPoints estimates also have similar effects on combat - when modified.

GC2Types.xml is the file you'd want to edit -- but, be warned that any changes have huge impacts on gameplay dynamics if only because components DO take space off whatever new limits written in.
