Fences v0.99.2032.beta InstallAware Wizard: Access is Denied

Folk,

Subject pretty well says it all. Running Windows 7 RC, Gigabytes of both disk space & RAM available. Intel dual core 2.8 processor. None of Win7's alternative installation modes work, nor do the diagnostics report anything other than incompatible. Is there a cure for this?

Edit:  same problem with Impulse.

Are you installing it from Impulse?

You will need admin access to install Fences.  Make sure you're not on a limited user account when installing.

I'm running as admin.  I've also tried the context menu Run as Administrator.  Just tried to install Impulse, same result.

Try running this file:

http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/stardock_access.bat

save the file, right click it and select "Run as Administrator" .  This may solve your issue.

NOTE: If you're using a browser other than IE, right click the link and select "Save link as".  Non-IE browsers treat batch files like text files, and just display them.

This was the output after redirecting stderr & stdout.  Ran the batch file from same directory as Fences.

Tried replacecing cacls with icacls, as cacls is deprecated, but not familiar enough with either to change the parameters, and icacls did not like /E, for a start.

Been too many years since my DOS days <sigh />.
