Sudden extreme simspeed drop

Allright. I just played a match against some interesting guys.

In the beginning of the match the simspeeds, pings and stuff were all good. After 10 minutes the opponents began to  drop simspeed, not 1 not 2 but all 3 of them. As soon as it became clear they could kill us it began to lag even more. And in EVERY single battle we engaged..guess what, it lagged like hell.

The funny thing is, that during the NON-battle actions everything was fine, no lag, simspeeds went up.

Since I have never seen this one before, I was hoping if someone could give me some info on this.

In other words: imagine that you are losing a battle and you dont want to die. Can you cause simspeed drop on purpose with things like a virusscanner, running a lot of programms and stuff like that.

(this post is NOT offensive againt anyone)

Well i know on large maps i start to lag once creeps get added. Could be a factor, and with more creeps the extra effects and actions being done in demigod combat could understandbly cause increased lag. I cant imagine someone would find a laggy game advantageous for them over anyone else.

It just sucks...

I've wondered the same thing. Played a few games where the 3 enemy TP at once... sim speed drops. i can't press anything, yet i'm getting attacked by the 3 enemy while they cast spells, use items, etc. i don't think its necessarily on purpose. Maybe blame the net code? I'm not sure.

but yeah, youtube "lag switch" the device is real and its something you can make at home for a few bucks. But I dunno if anyone is actually using this in DG.
