scriptable e-mail notification error on vista 64bit

hey

i just got my new computer and wanted to import my usual desktiop setting. i have an app to check my e-mails. it uses the built-in scriptable e-mail notification of desktopx

on this new machine, i get an error for the line

Mail.CheckMail "1", "account", "password", "pop.blahblah.net", 0

error message says

(null)

(not available)

it has always worked fine until now, so is this by chance a known problem on the 64bit vista computers?

any idea on how to fix the problem?
