New User--- Activation Error?

I've just upgraded from the free version to the 19.95$ version of windowblinds, and everything worked fine until I restarted my computer.  It would not let me log into my WindowBlinds application, and it had undone all my changes, from the free version.  I've gotten two errors:

Product Activation Error

Invalid Registration

I do not understand why I am getting these messages, as I'm using the e-mail address that I recieved my serial number from, and it's the same serial number that allowed me to install it from Impulse Now in the first place.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled WindowBlinds but I recieve the same errors.

Please help me, I feel like I have been taken advantage of, and all because I tried to endorse a company with a good product.

did you uninstall the trial version 1st?

the trial doesn't upgrade or register so if you didn't you may now have conflict

uninstall WB completely (save any downloaded skins first) reboot - then register via Impulse prior to installing via impulse

If you installed the trial version via Impulse, uninstall it through Impulse. Reboot, and then install your purchased software...then reboot again.

But Bichur's right...just added this as a follow-up.

Thanks for the attention, I really appreciate it.  I did uninstalling windowblinds, and re-installing it, and rebooting, re-registering, etc. deleting folders, and over and over again, but nothing gives.

When I installed the trial version, I didn't use Impulse.  The stardock site I bought WB from said that Impulse was needed for the download, and only then did I make an account with stardock and impulse.

Any other suggestions would really help, thanks.

Might there be a way to bypass that second part of the registration, given that I have already produced the proper information in the Impulse page itself?  Or a way to downgrade to the free version, which ran properly, and functioned well?

In the WindowBlinds directory, try deleting the sig6.bin file and running WindowBlinds again.  Sounds like this file was written incorrectly.

I could not locate any such item in

C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds

is this the correct directory?

that's correct (assuming that's where WB is installed).  The file should be sig6.bin, or sig7.bin if your using the WB7 beta.

If it's not there, try following this link in Internet Explorer:

http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/stardock_access.bat

save the file, right click it and select "Run as Administrator" if on Vista, just run it on XP.  This may solve your issue.

fyi - there is no free version - there is a trial version that runs out

Same deal.  On the WindowBlinds Activation page (Welcome! Please supply the information below to activate your copy of WindowBlinds), I still get the "Invalid Registration" message.  From what I've tried, would it be a safer bet to stay with the free version, which seems to be working correctly?

And perhaps the problem lies with Impulse Now itself, as the other version doesn't use impulse.

Oh, then is there a version that can be downloaded and used seperately from Impulse Now?

gprugh: please e-mail support@stardock.com.  There seems to be an issue with your account.

Ah, was trying to avoid that, but I suppose it's inevitable.  Thanks for all the help.
