Random event message cut short

Got "A Strange Blight" random event and it's description is cut short.

GalCiv2 Ultimate Edition v. 2.03

Playing with laptop which has a 1280x800 screen.

No scroll bar, but I think I have seen few event messages that had a scroll bar, not 100% sure though (I play only occasionally).
