question about screen configs with dual monitors

I'm going to be upgrading my computer soon and plan to have two monitors turned 90 degrees (ie vertically).

Has anyone ran demigod successfully with this configuration?

Umm if you expect the game will span across the two monitors, I don't think that's going to happen without a possible 3rd party program spanning it for you, and even then I dunno...

I have a 24" monitor and the desktop is extended to a second 17" monitor to the side.  If I remember right, I can use the mouse to scroll across edges of the map, but if I try to do that on the side of the monitor that goes to the other monitor my mouse enters the other monitors screen and the map doesn't scroll.  If I click while my mouse is on that side, the game minimizes.

You might not have these problems, and there might even be easy fixes for them for me, but as a whole I'd say don't expect much.

I've tried it with two monitors in the standard configuration and I had to swap to wasd for camera control (which I now prefer, but it was frustrating at first).

No, to do that without special software you'd have to set your standard display to stretch across both monitors which I find kind of annoying. By that I mean if you maximize something it doesn't just fill one monitor it would stretch across both, programs wouldn't anchor to one monitor or the other, etc.

I would bet there's a way to get 3d applications to fill both monitors while still keeping the standard dual monitor desktop functionality, but my standard geforce software didn't seem to have it.

Hmmm ok.

I've got a triple monitor setup at work and the main two are set up so that, as you say, maximizing will fill both screens. This is in linux with nvidia cards but I assumed something similar would be do-able in windows, basically a screen resolution of...2100x1680

Don't take my experience as the final word, I'll look at it more closely and see if there's something I overlooked and I'm sure there's no shortage of people better educated on the matter.

i use 2 monitors at the same time, but I clone the view. I find if you use the same size monitors and strech the veiw its fine, but different sizes just doesn't look right, gives me a headache. You need 3rd party software to play the game over more that 1 monitor, unless you clone, most video cards have that built in in the software. Btw, if you plan on playing the game over more that 1 screen, not cloned, it will eat up a lot of resources. Make sure you have a beefy computer or we will be complaining about your sim speed!!!!

I use dual monitors, and play DG in windowed mode on my main - a 26".  This requires that you use WASD to move the camera, but thats very easy to get used to - and your fingers are right near there anyways for the skills.  I've had to start maximizing the window though, otherwise I would get way too many "click-off" deaths, where I accidently clicked off the screen when trying to RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!
