Assistance with ObjectDock

First of all, apologies if any/most of this has been answered elsewhere - I'm rather under the weather and too lazy to do a proper search.

1) I've got OD+ but would really like to get rid of the tabbed dock but don't see that option - am I just blind (possible, I admit) or do I have to edit a file somewhere?

2) Is it possible to have two docks along the same side of the display - so 1 dock in the upper left, 1 in the upper right?

3) Besides WinCustomize, are there any quality places to find docklets or object icons?

4) I have the free version of OD on another computer, do I have to uninstall that version before putting OD+ on, or will it just overwrite without issues?

1. Not sure what you mean by "get rid of". You might have a problem docking two zoomers on one side...they adjust with the number of items in them.

One of the most creative and helpful members/users of OD+ is Cplair...if you email him, he can help a great deal, of pm/email a Mod.

2. Yes...but I would use two tabbed docks for the reason above.

3. There are many skinning sites...look here for some: LINK

4. Uninstall it using "Impulse". Then install using "Impulse". Make sure you obey the "TOS" regarding numbers of computers allowed with the software. The TOS is included in each software package.

1) Click on the "Configure ObjectDock" icon, then click on "My Docks", then click on the dock you want to remove, then click on "Remove This Dock".

2) Yes. The docks can be positioned wherever you want. Click on "Manage My Docks", click on the dock you want to reposition, then click "Edit This Dock", then click "Positioning", then check the "Spacing & Alignment" box, then use the sliders to move the dock around.

3) Try deviantart.com and skinbase.org.

4) It's probably best to uninstall OD free first just to be sure. I've had them both on one computer at the same time; OD Plus didn't overwrite OD free.

Just to clarify, though the question was answered, by 'get rid of' I meant 'remove the tabbed dock'. Just my preference, but I don't like the tabbed docks as much as I do the 'zoomers'.

As I understand it, someone please correct me if I'm mistaken, the TOS allows the user to install OD+ on one desktop and one laptop, provided the purchaser is the primary user on both machines. As I am the only user on these machines, I should be safely within the TOS. Stardock is one of the few companies I wouldn't abuse or pirate from. They, as I see it, treat the customer like a customer; unlike some other companies that treat the customer like a criminal from the word go. Simply put, they show me respect, the least I can do is return it in kind!  :grin:

remove the tabs one by one ,you should be left with just the dock,cant have two docks on same side of screen unless you put in rocket dock as well as objectdock.you can also use rocketdock skins and icon and addons for both docks.you could just put a separater in middle of dock to separate two parts of objectdock.

This isn't correct advice. Use the guidelines that willistuder gave above in reply #2.

your right,my mistake.you will be left with a dock with one tab.ryou could rename tab objectdock.

Messiah1 (the munkeh) is a great dock skinner and willistuder is too...they give excellent advice.

Another great source for advice about OD is Cplair and Thuglifejunior.

These guys are very friendly and do magic with their dock setups. Don't be shy, email them! :sun:
