While not on the subject of Superman vs Batman in particular (but hey, neither was my previous post), there is a great comic series right now called Iredeemable.
It is a totally new set of super heroes that seem to be based on Golden Age DC heroes (not on a one-to-one case, but the general theme of it). The story centers around a Supermanish hero. He is alien (but looks human), had a lame reporter alter ego, naseatingly goody goody, and seemingly all powerful.
Shortly before the first issue of the series, he apparently snapped. Devastated the Metropolis-clone. The rest of the heroes are left trying to figure out what happened, how to stop him, and how to even think about trying to stop him when he can hear you from a thousand miles away, and be there to kill you in the next second. I don't want to give too much away, it's on it's 4th issue so far, great read.
Also from Boom! studios: Fall of Cthulhu. It's already ended, so buy up the trade paperbacks and read it. Quite excellent.
