I just want to ask if we can, temporarily, get WC or Stardock to put a banner or notice of some kind on the DX galleries, top of page, saying that DesktopX apps are not currently working until we find a solution? This way, until we artists can figure out what to do with our themes? Users don't need to be downloading stuff that don't work? Please......

A suggestion only, Jim...maybe go on IRC and talk directly to the Mods/Admin. Wouldn't that be quicker?  :thumbsup:

Weather apps not working should not stop people from downloading the themes which contain other useful apps.  This weather issue is only affecting a certain part of DesktopX creations, so placing a warning on the gallery really isn't necessary.

Spencer, with all due respect, it is obvious to me that you are not a DX user. The themes that contain weather widgets WILL NOT LOAD FULLY and will give the end user a cycle of errors. The only way to stop this is that DX must be killed in task manager in order to shut down DX. Therefore they are unusable to the end user.

I would suggest taht if you are concerned you add text like the following to your weather widgets/objects/gadgets:

 

**NOTICE - 7/9/09** 
 
Until I can update this theme, the weather widget will not work due to changes on weather.com.

Once again, it's not only the weather that won't work. The theme will not load at all. Must be killed in task manager.

That will work, Zubaz, but it will need to be on each and every skin in my gallery and in a lot of other people's galleries. Now wouldn't it be easier for everyone if it were just posted once, at the top of the gallery page, to cover everyone? Sort of like the notice we get when there's gonna be forum maintenance....etc. Because this will affect every theme/skin that involves weather, and DX will not load with this error. Seems to me that new users are going to think that DX is a POS and it will deter them from further interest.

I know I'm the one that will hurt most for this as sViz says, I pretty much own the DX gallery. I have a lot of work ahead of me and it will take time. I'm still trying to get answers about my download counts and stats being reinstated, I fear I cannot do anything with my gallery until I know something, and no one is answering my questions therof.
