May be a stupid question.

But where do I download my game? I did a digital download of Demigod and I cannot figure out where to download it at. I think I have to download it through Impulse, which is not working for me at the moment.... But if anyone knows where I download it that would be very nice information to have.

You would need to download via Impulse.  How is Impulse not working for you?

This may be a stupid answer....

But yes, you need to get impulse running to download the game. support@stardock.com are very helpful in solving issues with impulse.

It is giving me the servers not responding error message. I have already submitted it to the support email and I haven't gotten a response yet.

Do you have any security software running in the background?  Try adding exceptions for Impulse or temporarily disabling it and try Impulse again.

I have tried running it with my firewall off and with my antivirus off, at the same time. The tech support just got back to me and asked me to run
http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/enumerate_startup.bat through Internet Explorer, the only problem is I don't use IE I use Firefox and for whatever reason IE doesn't even work at all I just get a page cannot be displayed message and nothing I can think of seems to fix that either.

Tech support also asked me to run dxdiag and send them a copy of the results.

Heres to hoping it doesn't take two days to get another response. :annoyed:

Got it working, I had to get IE working properly and then it worked like a charm. Thanks for your help guys, see you in Demigod.

Glad you got it working, enjoy!

The only stupid questions are those that go unasked. Glad you got it working, btw!

I take it back... I have heard some stupid questions, but this wasn't one of those... ;P

Just to reiterate for others out there, if IE is not working on your system, most likely Impulse will not either.  As both are connecting in similar ways, if IE is borked because of Viruses, Spyware, whatever, Impulse will likely have connection issues as well.

By no means does this mean you have to use IE as your default browser (Firefox user myself), but If Impulse is not connecting and you know IE is messed up on your system, that is a good first place to look to solve your issue.

Who decided that integrating the web browser so tightly into the OS would be a good idea?

Integrating the web browser into the OS? He was talking about connecting to the internet, not being integrated into the OS. :|

Mirsguy,

I wasn't responding directly to Shirley's statement. The reason I chose to quote it is because it had reminded me of how tightly M$ has woven IE into Windows. Since the original topic appears to have been solved, I was merely starting conversation. That's all. :)

Maybe you should try the IRC channels if you want to chat... :X
