Im looking to play....can you help???

HI all. I have been following the game for the past few months cause it seemed like a good game and Im trying to get some feedback before I purchase.

I have played many many rts games and been competitive online. I love fast paced rts and Im getting the feeling this is not one so here are my questions if you guys could help.

1)HOw long does it take to get a game going online? What are the wait times multi?

2)How many players on average at any given time are on the server? Kind of like question 1.

3)HOw long to matches take to play typically? I know this question is hard to answer but for instant AOE3 could last me 6 or 7 minutes to almost 2 hours. What is this one like?

4)Tough to ask about balance but Im getting the feeling most people all play the same DG's. Oak seeming to be the most popular. Does this create alot of mirror matches and the same strats over and over again? IS there alot of diversity in this game?

5)Last is server stability and plug pullers. HOw is the server and are you hardcores finding alot of plug pullers? Is there alot of lag?

I know its kind of dumb to ask this and I should just buy the game but honestly I dont feel like spending 40 bucks for an rts that I might only play a few times after I realize it takes an hour to get a game going in AOE3(I was top 100 in the world so that sucked) or everyone plays the same thing over and over cause its works all day long.

Any help would be appreciated. CoH is getting boring fast and COD4 is only good for awhile. Thanks all :)

1) I always host, games take about 1 min~15mins to get going. Depending on your stats/title/lamers/etc.

2) No idea

3) ~15-45 mins, depending if you walk the floor with your oponents or not. It's very rare a game will get over 30 mins with good players.

4) There is alot of diversity if you choose to play that way. I'm one of those people that go on "kicks" with heros, with 30+ matches of the same setup so I can master that one and move on. However, me and my partner almost see different lineups eachtime we play. The most popular definitly is UB atm, but that shouldn't be correlated with OPness. It's way easier to kill a stupid beast than most demi's ;)

5) Plug pulling has died alot since the recent concede option. Lag, used to be terrible, havn't had problems with it lately besides the person occasionally torrenting while playing with ping spikes.

It's a good game, but I wouldn't play it without a friend. If you do get it, make friends fast. It will make the game much more enjoyable.

Here's some info about the current server usage.  The game is pretty well populated.  You'll notice the Skirmish/Pantheon queue is usually empty.  This is a good thing.  This means there aren't many people sitting around in queue waiting for a game to begin... they are all actually playing.  If you look at the "games in progress" you'll see there are plenty of skirmish/pantheon games going.

Because automatch is always at least 2v2, ocassionally 3v3, it takes a bit longer to get into an automatch game than other titles that focus on 1v1 for competetive play.  Plus it's a LOT more difficult to set up good matches with equally skilled players.

However, the system is generally pretty reliable, and it will jump you into a game within 5 minutes.  Ocassionally you wind up playing with a newb who makes your life miserable, but generally I find the quality of play and sportsmanship pretty satisfactory.

Games last between 15-50 minutes.  But there is never a dull moment... and long games are very exciting.

Balance is pretty darn good.  There are a few characters and builds that are more common than others, but there's a whole lot of viable stuff that just isn't very popular for one reason or another.

The game is not without issue.  Online community tools are lacking a lot (friends chat, etc).  Replay functionality is missing.  And I have a few niggles with the interface.  However, on the whole the game offers a fantastic experience, and based on what you seem to be looking for, this is the game for you.

Furthermore, all the problems I've just mentioned will probably be resolved by the end of the summer.

1) Games generally don't take longer then a few minutes to get going except maybe during the slowest times of the day.

2) http://www.demigodthegame.com/opengames.asp That shows the number of people online, games being played, and games open.

3) Agree with wicked bear that 15-30 minutes is normal with it only getting longer then that if the teams are very evenly matched.

4) Oak isn't most popular, expecially not after that Heart of Life nerf. I actually see a lot of diversity in Demigods chosen and with all the different play styles each Demigod allows for more of which playstyle do you like the best rather then choosing the Demigod that is obviously the strongest, because there is no strongest Demigod and playing one strategy can be countered by others. There are some Demigods that are straight tanks and are generally played more then support Demigods, but not by a large margain.

5) I generally don't have issues with lag unless I intentionally play with someone with a high ping. Disconnects and ragequitters also aren't a huge problem, imo atleast. One or two of every 10 or so games sees a quitter.

Watching these forums is kind of nice too cause it seems like most of the players are of a mature age. Ill have to give it a whirl. I actually never played the Warcraft mod that I guess people are comparing it too so it will be new to me and I see alot of potential in this game. Im sure some new dg's are in the works too which will make this more exciting too. IDK Ill have to give it a go.

IF anyone wants to help me as a noob please hit me up. Ill be under SOJOA probably and I could use a friend to play with. IT might be a tough sell to get my other buds to join up right away. Im an experienced rts play and I catch on quick. Let me know.
