Surrender + Pirate bug (2.02)

So the Korath surrendered to me.   Which was unexpected but good.

So a couple of their remaining ships turned into pirates.  Which was expected.

So one of the pirate ships is now on TOP of their homeworld.  Which I own.

Moving ships to the world does not fight the pirate.  It docks them.

Single-clicking on the world selects both pirate and planet in the multiple-ships view,  with the planet listed as logistics value of "0".

Double-clicking on the world brings up the Intel report on the pirate ship.

I emailed gc2bugs but haven't heard in a few days,  I assume they're fairly busy folks and am not here to bitch about that.

My question is,  has anyone else ever observed this behavior?  Did you find a way to dislodge or destroy the pirate??

To add insult to injury,  I replayed from an earlier save and the Korath surrendered .. to the Altarians.  Oh,  the humanity!

Thanks all for any replies or suggestions.

Sadly, no.  It is in the same space as the planet,  but it isn't in orbit -- the launch screen is empty.   In fact, on the galaxy map both of them are drawn -- bits of the pirate ship are sticking out of the planet.

The only possible solution I can think of is perhaps using the cheat which moves a selected ship to whereever the cursor is located.  I forget what that code is.

I have seen this happen before... but not in the same way.

I was attacking the Iconian Refugee and I sent one of my ships to engage a small fighter. I won the dog fight but the ship didn't disappear off the map, instead it just sat there blocking my way. I tried engaging it again but my ship wouldn't budgy. I ended my turn and it still remained there. It didn't move, or fight, or do anything but sit there and block my way most the time. Since i couldn't battle it I had no choice but to leave it there.

shortly afterwards my game crashed though and it reset to a time before the ship was destroyed. luckily the glitch didn;t reappear.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

On a related note,  how long does it usually take for mail sent to gc2bugs to be acknowledged?  It's been about two weeks since I reported the issue.
